In a customized power distribution cabinet, selecting the right circuit breaker, contactor and other key electrical components is crucial to meet specific load and control requirements.
First, for the selection of circuit breakers, the type and size of the load need to be considered. If it is a resistive load, such as a heating device, calculate its rated current, and select a circuit breaker with a rated current slightly larger than the normal working current of the load to ensure that it will not trip in error during normal operation. For inductive loads, such as motors, the starting current is large, so the circuit breaker needs to be selected according to its starting current characteristics. Generally, a circuit breaker with a certain overload capacity and short-circuit protection capability should be selected. For example, for a motor load that starts frequently, it may be necessary to select a circuit breaker with a higher instantaneous tripping current multiple to withstand the inrush current at startup, and quickly cut off the circuit protection equipment and line in the event of a short-circuit fault.
For the selection of contactors, it should be determined according to the power and control method of the load. If the load power is large, it is necessary to select a contactor with appropriate rated current and voltage, and the contact material and arc extinguishing ability of the contactor should be considered. For loads that need to be frequently switched on and off, such as forward and reverse control of motors, the mechanical life and electrical life of the contactor are particularly important. At the same time, the control voltage of the contactor should also be considered to match the control system. For example, in some automated control systems, it may be necessary to select a contactor that can accept output signals from controllers such as PLCs.
In addition, environmental factors need to be considered. If the power distribution cabinet is installed in a high temperature, humid or dusty environment, electrical components with corresponding protection levels and adaptability should be selected. For example, in a humid environment, it is necessary to select circuit breakers and contactors with good moisture resistance to prevent insulation degradation and failure caused by moisture. At the same time, the appropriate electrical component model should be selected according to the control accuracy and response speed requirements of the load. In short, only by comprehensively considering multiple factors such as load characteristics, control requirements and environment can the appropriate circuit breakers, contactors and other key electrical components be selected, so that the customized power distribution cabinet can safely, reliably and efficiently meet specific load and control requirements.
